Definition Obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is hypertrophic cardiomyopathy that manifests sufficient fixed or dynamic narrowing within one or both ventricles to result in a significant pressure gradient between the ventricular apex and the outflow valve (aortic or pulmonary).
