Privacy

Short version

This is a static reference site. There are no user accounts, no login, no comments and no newsletter. We set no cookies and run no advertising. We use one privacy-friendly analytics tool, Plausible, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. Searching happens entirely inside your browser.

Search

The search box downloads an index of ICD-11 codes to your browser and matches your query locally on your device. What you type is never sent to a server and is not logged anywhere.

Hosting and server logs

This site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. as static files. Cloudflare processes requests on our behalf and, like any web host, handles technical data needed to deliver pages and protect against abuse — including your IP address, the page requested, timestamp, browser user-agent and referring page.

We do not use this data to identify individuals and do not combine it with anything else.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to see which pages are read and where visitors arrive from. It is a privacy-focused alternative to Google Analytics, chosen precisely because it does not need cookies or personal data.

Concretely, Plausible:

• sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device
• collects no personally identifiable information
• does not track you across websites or between visits
• does not build a profile of you, and never sells data

What is recorded is aggregate: page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, device type and country. Your IP address and user agent are used only transiently, to generate a one-way hash that counts a repeat page view within a single day; that hash is discarded daily and cannot be reversed to identify you. No raw IP address is stored.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, how this reference site is used. Because no cookies are set and no personal data is stored, no consent banner is required.

Blocking it is easy if you prefer: any content blocker, or a browser "do not track" / no-JavaScript setting, prevents it from loading. The site works identically without it.

Cookies

We set no cookies, and the analytics described above sets none either. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie (__cf_bm or similar) to distinguish humans from bots; it carries no advertising or profiling function.

Third parties

Pages link out to the WHO ICD-11 browser for verification. Those links are marked nofollow and following one takes you to a site with its own privacy policy.

The only third-party script on this site is the Plausible analytics script described above. No advertising networks, no social widgets, no embedded fonts, no trackers and no embeds of any other kind are loaded on any page.
