Definition
Dies ist ein Zustand, der in einigen Fällen von AIDS oder Immunsuppression auftritt, bei dem sich das Immunsystem zu erholen beginnt, dann aber auf eine zuvor erworbene opportunistische Infektion mit einer überwältigenden Entzündungsreaktion reagiert, die paradoxerweise die Symptome der Infektion verschlimmert.
