Pyothorax
Definition
Suppurative Entzündung des Pleuraraums, typischerweise aufgrund einer akuten bakteriellen Infektion. Sie kann als Komplikation einer Lungenentzündung, einer Thorakotomie, eines Abszesses (Lunge, Leber oder Subdiaphragma) oder eines penetrierenden Traumas mit einer Sekundärinfektion auftreten.
