Definition
Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is the most significant sequela of Rheumatic Fever (RF). Rheumatic fever (RF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) are nonsuppurative complications of Group A streptococcal pharyngitis due to a delayed immune response.
